Reviews Today is an independent publication built on a simple idea: a health claim should earn its place with evidence before anyone acts on it.
Every day, a new "trick," tonic, or protocol goes viral. Some are harmless, a few are genuinely useful, and many are neither — they simply sound convincing. We started Reviews Today to sit between the reader and the hype, read the actual research, and report back in plain language on what holds up and what doesn't.
Our editorial and fact-check mission
Our mission is to make trending health claims easier to judge. We are not here to scare readers away from every new idea, and we are not here to cheerlead for the latest fad. We are here to ask one question consistently — what does the evidence actually say? — and to answer it without spin.
We favour primary and authoritative sources: peer-reviewed research, and guidance from bodies such as the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and major professional associations. When the evidence is strong, we say so. When it is thin, contested, or missing, we say that too, rather than dressing up a guess as a conclusion.
How we review a claim
- We define the claim precisely. Vague promises ("boosts metabolism") get restated as something testable before we evaluate them.
- We look for the studies that would have to exist for the claim to be true — ideally controlled trials, not anecdotes or single testimonials.
- We weigh quality, not just quantity. One well-designed trial can outweigh a pile of low-quality reports, and vice versa.
- We flag the risks and the trade-offs that the original claim tends to leave out.
- We reach a clear verdict and cite the sources behind it, so you can check our work.
Our editorial conclusions are ours alone. They are not for sale, and no advertiser, brand, or affiliate partner can change a verdict.
